Whilst our team are working hard on client initiatives, some of us are dedicating our time to support an inspiring charity and one of our partners, ‘City Harvest, London’ through pro-bono work.
We are personally invested in supporting their incredible efforts and utilising our creative skills to do so during the pandemic period- creating the #FeedLondonsHungry charity campaign.
City Harvest puts surplus food to good use in a sustainable way, collecting food from restaurants, grocers, manufacturers, wholesalers, hotels and caterers – which they then redistribute to organisations, to help thousands of vulnerable people, including homeless shelters, soup kitchens, children’s programs, centres for the elderly, and refuges for women experiencing domestic violence. These people would otherwise go hungry.
To date, they have redistributed food valued at more than £10 million to their organisations, while rescuing and redistributing 80,000 meals per week.
We’re supporting City Harvest on Creative for their social channels, as well as a social campaign to help raise awareness of their emergency crowdfunding appeal on GoFundMe. They’ve recently launched this appeal to keep their vans rolling on the streets of London.
Through crowdfunding, their aim is to raise £50,000, which will allow them to operate for 5 x weeks and they are in need of donations.
Our mission was to harness the power of social media to spread the word through the #FeedLondonsHungry campaign, sharing how small efforts can make a significant impact, and how City Harvest are championing sustainable efforts to feed London’s hungry and vulnerable.
For this campaign, we have collaborated with Influencers to support the message, raise awareness and encourage donations. We also organised an Instagram Live cooking class over on @londonsbest with @ellie_croissant, who showed us how to make some tasty breakfast snacks with food you were planning to throw away.
